Frequently Asked Questions

To be eligible to submit an application, you must be an undergraduate student at UCLA in good academic standing.

Bruin Entrepreneurs does not have a class level requirement and our opportunities are not limited to any one major. As part of our mission to invite everyone to the entrepreneurial space, we look for talent in individuals’ whose interests span across multiple industries, educational background, and work/extracurricular experience.

Under the UCLA Student Group Conduct Code, applications will not be discriminated on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or service in the uniformed services.

BE looks for curious and passionate students eager about their creative ideas. As such, we expect that great potential candidates demonstrate this drive in their applications and throughout the whole recruiting process via coffee chats and individual interviews.

In the initial application, we encourage the following tips to be followed for the resume:

  • List any relevant internships and leadership extracurriculars you held while at school
  • Include volunteer/community activities
  • Include your GPA if it demonstrates good academic standing
  • Limit your resume to one page
  • Leave out your high school information (if you are not a new first-year student)
  • You should not include any photos in your resume, including your headshot
  • Pay extra attention to formatting. In our application, simple is best. Use bullets instead of paragraphs, and a nice clean font.
  • Quantify your accomplishments in your experiences and demonstrate how your qualifications can be applicable towards the initiative position(s) you applied for.

For more tips regarding a good resume, check out the UCLA Career Center or our Resume Guide.

When applications are open, candidates can head over to the recruitment page (this page) on our website to submit the application. Submitting this application is the first step for a candidate to start their recruiting process at BE. The application consists of basic personal information, a resume, and a short written prompt. All applicants apply for a first-quarter Project Coordinator position. Project Coordinators learn about our organization, our goals and missions, and participate in an intensive entrepreneurship training series while handling working documents and outreach for their initiative.

After applicants submit their applications, our recruitment team will invite certain candidates to group interviews and final interviews.

We encourage candidates who are still interested in being a part of the BE team to apply more than once. Due to the competitive nature of our recruitment, we anticipate and favor demonstrated interest.

We encourage our candidates to demonstrate their passion by integrating themselves as part of our network. During the recruitment cycle, we favor applicants who put their best foot forward and make a good impression by actively reaching out to our team. In addition, as our recruitment process includes candidates to demonstrate their ability to work with a mock case, we encourage candidates to practice their problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and strategic and logical thinking.
