Bruin Entrepreneurs History of Leadership

Founded in 2013, Bruin Entrepreneurs has grown to be the premier entrepreneurship organization at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), providing resources, events, and opportunities to students on campus and beyond. Bruin Entrepreneurs is proud to have an extensive network of alumni that have built Bruin Entrepreneurs to be what it is today.

Class of 2025 Alumni

Nathan Lim

Former President, 2023-2024

Nathan Lim has been involved with Bruin Entrepreneurs since April 2022 as a Designer for the Media & Designathon at UCLA Initiative (previously known as Head of Vision). In September 2022, Lim became Director of Media and Designathon at UCLA revolutionizing visual identities and accessibility across the organization. His event Designathon at UCLA 2023: summit became the largest design-focused competition in Southern California, garnering world-wide attention and attendance. In June 2023, Lim was inaugurated as the 11th President of the organization. During his tenure, Lim restructured Bruin Entrepreneurs to emphasize internal networking, external relationships, and meaningful talent acquisition. Lim introduced the Bruin Entrepreneurs Network (BENet), Bruin Entrepreneurs Connected (BEConnected), and Bruin Entrepreneurs Strategic Engagement. 

Lim is currently finishing his last year at UCLA as a Bachelor of Arts Candidate in Economics with a double minor in Accounting and Social Data Science. He is the Managing Partner of Bruin Entrepreneurs Strategic Engagement.

Elena Alimin

Former Vice President, 2022-2023

Elena Alimin has been involved with Bruin Entrepreneurs from 2020 to 2023, serving as Marketing Staff for Startup Fair LA 2021, Participant for VCIC 2021, Staff for 1000 Pitches and Designathon 2021, Director for BruinLabs 2021, and Operations Staff for Weekly Nights 2021-2022. Alimin has served as the organization's Vice President from July 2022 to July 2023. 

Alimin is now an alumnus planning to go into product management/venture capital. She works on a food blog available at this link.

Sarah Wilen

Former President, 2022-2023
Sarah Wilen has been involved with Bruin Entrepreneurs from 2019 to 2023, serving as the Directors for Startup Fair LA (2020-2021) and Weekly Nights (2021-2022). She then served as the organization's President from July 2022 to July 2023.
 
Wilen works at SpaceX as a Manufacturing & Test Engineer under the Dragon and Falcon production org. Additionally, she is working on a startup called Sponsor Secured that connects college student clubs with sponsors.

Paolo Shamoon

Former President, 2021-2022
Paolo Shamoon has been involved with Bruin Entrepreneurs from 2018 to 2021, starting as Operations Staff for Startup Labs: Bootcamp before serving as the Weekly Nights Director. He then served as the organization's President from April 2021 to March 2022.
 
Shamoon was involved with Plug and Play VC for two years before co-founding TradeUp, a startup that redefines the marketplace that emphasizes transparency, trust, and community.

Gerald Ko

Former Advisor, Startup Labs: Bootcamp, 2020-2021
Gerald Ko has been involved with Bruin Entrepreneurs from 2018 to 2021 as staff for Startup Labs: Bootcamp. He was the initaitive's Advisor for 2020-2021.
 
Ko is now a Venture Investment Manager at Deutsche Bank Ventures.
